Hey guys! I wrote an article lately speaking about my desire to find a great backup bass and in it I mentioned that I bought a few inexpensive basses and modified them for better sonic quality. Well here’s a clip of one of the basses, a Squier Affinity V. It was modified in the following way:
- Shielded the control cavity
- Changed to CTS pots
- Installed Nordstrand NJ5F pickups
- Installed a Nordstrand 2B Preamp
- Wired the controls to be Vol/Blend/Bass&Treble Stack.
