I recently did a gig in Atlanta with the Brien Andrews Band and during the set we performed “The Chicken”. He gave me a solo. The vid may be a little weird, but check it out!!

Earlier this year I did the Stockholm Jazz festival and had an opportunity to meet and hang out with the guys that I really look up to… Robert Glasper, Derrick Hodge, Chris Dave and Casey Benjamin – better known as The Robert Glasper Experiment, or more recently RCDC. Incredible group of guys and musicians on and off stage. We all went to a jam session hosted by the Jazz Festival and these guys went on stage and shut the place down! Singing For Pounds

We were in London and thought it we be fun and kinda silly to hustle up some English pounds for our lunch. The crew put on an impromptu street performance in the middle of the Camden Town shopping district. Hilarity ensues as expected!! I think you’ll definitely enjoy this!!

Jahah Performance at Club Fuzion in Atlanta / NOSTALGIA CD Release

My homie Jahah is a Hip Hop / R&B artist based in Atlanta, GA. A little while back I had the opportunity to organize some of my musical buddies and put together a band for a show supporting the release of his new project entitled “Nostalgia”. The band featured Carlos Simon on keys, Larry Newson on drums, Rod Harris on guitar and yours truly on bass. Check out the footage from the live show!

I also had the opportunity to play bass on and co-produce a few tracks on the album! In Jahah’s own words:

“For those of you who miss the “golden era ” of hip hop (Biggie, 2 Pac, Nasty Nas, Jay-Z, A Tribe Called Quest, KRS-One, Gang Starr, Black Moon, Wu-Tang etc) my project Nostalgia RED is for you!”

Angie Stone Performance Celebrating Poland’s EU Presidency

I had a really cool gig a couple of weeks ago! I traveled to Warsaw, Poland to perform with Angie Stone in a concert series celebrating Poland’s new Presidency of the European Union. This is an incredible honor that rotates throughout members of the EU every six months. An estimated 20,000 people were in attendance and the concert was broadcast live throughout the country!

We shared the stage with some incredible Polish artists : Leszek Mo?d?er, Myslovitz, Zakopower, Tomasz Sta?ko, Me Myself and I and Perfect. We were also able to perform alongside and some legendary artists from the United States and abroad: Michael Bolton, Dolores O’Riordan from The Cranberries and Tricky.

Each foreign artist was asked to perform a song native to Poland. Our performance piece was a reggae version of Daab’s W moim ogrodzie (In My Garden).

The night was rounded out by an incredible fireworks show that we unknowingly stood underneath. I have some footage that I’ll share soon of what it’s like to see fireworks from directly under them!! It was an incredible night!!

Angie B Takes Us Back!!

One day before our show in Lund, Sweden we were all hanging in Angie’s room when she pulled out her laptop and began to show us videos from her days as Angie B… a rapper/singer with the group “The Sequence”. It’s sad to me because this was one of the first female rap groups, yet they are almost never mentioned when conversations of hip hop and history take place. They were right there along with the Sugar Hill Gang but get no love!
