I was reading online and came across a site called Fox Attacks that, if I may paraphrase something on their site, puts together [videos] highlighting Fox’s awful record of airing bigoted views and highly problematic framing around [social] issues. Everyone knows that Fox has been highly regarded as the dummy that sits on the laps of the Republicans. Check out this video below and tell me if you think this compilation has any merit.

March 15th, 2007A Little Survey I’m Taking…
March 15th, 2007
After finishing some work the other day I figured that it wouldn’t hurt to watch a little TV. I searched and searched, and even though I pay for a gazillion channels, there was nothing on, so I finally settled on a repeat episode of Vh1′s I Love New York. This was the first time that I had an opportunity to watch the show. The show isn’t that bad to me, and it seems to be better than Flavor of Love, but the show didn’t grab my attention as much as the commercials did. It wasn’t the fact that there were some incredible “Super Bowl-esque” type commercials on, I was just caught off guard by the kinds of commercials… most notably one by Trojan brand condoms.
This made me begin to wonder about the subliminal messages that advertisers send. As a man willing to say I watch Sex and the City, I can’t say that I ever remember seeing a condom commercial on during the airings of those shows, and those episodes are just as overly sexed as all the other shows on VH1 or MTV or any daytime soap opera.
So, I want to know if there is a trend in the kinds of commercials that support most shows. I know it’s mainly based off of demographics, but within those demographics, what messages are they sending? Are they contributing to the delinquency of America by sending certain underlying messages through popular media? I don’t want to come to any full conclusions just yet. But I’m going to pick some sexually charged shows and just keep track of the commercials to see if any inferences can be made. This won’t be purely scientific but it may shed some light on the situation. Keep checking back for the results!

Rappers Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
March 9th, 2007WCBSTV.com is reporting that Grand Master Flash and the Furious Five have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame along with rockers such as R.E.M. and Van Halen. This is incredible news for rap and hip hop. One of music’s most respected organizations is paying homage to the humble beginnings of hip hop. I know many people wonder why it took so long for a rap artist to be included, well it’s because an artist can’t be admitted until 25 years after his or her first release (…hip hop started in ’78 or ’79… some people still dispute exactly when it began).
There has been roughly 30 years of progress in rap and hip hop and the art form has had an incredible yet interesting journey of evolution. When I think of other artists that will be possibly inducted into the Hall of Fame, many artists come to mind – Rakim, Tribe Called Quest, Sugar Hill Gang, Kool Moe Dee, The Roots, maybe even Will Smith (he did change the game as “The Fresh Prince” and he is the only rapper I know that can have an album out that has sold over 6 million copies and none of the hip hop enthusiasts around me have the cd…. (read that last line as “this shows his pop appeal”) or at worst have even heard it), but I have to say that I’m not sure that I feel that many of today’s artists will have earned their way into the musical community’s homage to creative greatness.

You Come From Slaves??? NOT IN MY TRIBE!!!!
March 7th, 2007I may be a little late on this, but if you haven’t heard about it then look below. I’m sure that reading the first line will compel you to read the rest. Yahoo ran this AP story here.
Native American Cherokees voted to expel descendants of black slaves from their tribe nation in a special election that has prompted charges of racism, according to returns made public early Sunday… read the rest of the story here.
Most people are charging this as racist. The Native American Cherokees see it as a form of Democracy, one of America’s “greatest moral principles”. What do you think??
Women Should Just Stay In The Kitchen!!!!
March 1st, 2007
For all my sports enthusiasts, have you ever been to a game, any kind of game, and disagreed with the referee on a call??… it doesn’t matter whether it was a bad call or just one you didn’t like. I know personally that when I get caught up in the game and a bad call is made, I tend to take my emotional involvement out on the refs. Well, I read an article today about Boston Celtics radio analyst Cedric Maxwell and he did just that. The ref in this case was a woman, Violet Palmer.
Maxwell was quoted as saying she should “go back in the kitchen”… and even placed an order by saying “Go in there and make some bacon and eggs, would you?” All of this was broadcast live on the radio. So what do you think, was he caught up in the game? Or did he mean every word he said?? The Bible says that the mouth speaks from an overflow of the heart. Give me your opinion.
Of Course he has offered an apology – “I didn’t mean to be insensitive… blah blah blah…yada yada yada…” It seems to be the norm now to be in public places saying whatever the heck you want to say and doing whatever you want to do and making everything better by just apologizing… some even check into rehab so it’ll seem more sincere. Is this fair? Do you think that a simple apology is enough?
Rest In Peace…
February 13th, 2007Rest In Peace…

Do those words mean anything in the celebrity life? When you sign the dotted line to become a celebrity, is that an eternal commitment? I just think it’s truly shameful for all of these media outlets to continue to drag Anna Nicole Smith’s name and life through scandalous accusations and presumptions. Will there ever be a time where they will just let her rest in peace? Or is she just a scapegoat for some more of this crazy crap Bush is brewing… just so he can slip it past us while we are preoccupied. Last I checked, Bush asked Congress for over $700 billion, He has taken $30 million away from child health insurance in Ga, and N. Korea is still threating to conquer the world.
Don’t get caught up in the hype. Let’s stick with the real issues.
I don’t want to be a celebrity…. not if I’ll have to go through all of that.
I don’t think I want the celebrity life. Do you?
It’s Going to Happen Anyway?…
February 9th, 2007Have you ever had a situation like this to happen to you?
You’re sitting at home and someone has promised to come by around 7. There are a million things you could be doing but you’re trying to hold off because you are waiting on your visitor. It’s at that point that you say to yourself, “I know the door bell will ring as soon as I start to….”. Ignoring your gut feelings, you begin to do something anyway and just as you thought, the door bell rings.
This situation parallels many similar situations that people have everyday. So I guess I’m wondering, if we all tend to believe that while anticipating an event, small things that disrupt the act of waiting or anticipating will cause that event to quickly come to pass, then why don’t we use that power for our advantage?
What I’m saying is, if you want the door bell to ring, then go ahead and start doing something else. If you think someone will call as soon as you get in the shower, then get in the shower and place a phone in the bathroom.
If you believe, you can control what happens to you.

What Can Brown Do For You?
November 23rd, 2006According to the Associated Press, Kramer is running damage control on his party from the other day.
So, he went out and hired a public relations expert with deep contacts in the black community. Kramer’s publicist says: “Michael apologized profusely. He wants to heal the tremendous wound that he’s inflicted on the American public, and on the African-American community…”
And, this is no lie, they’ve contacted Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson. I don’t remember having an election and voting those dudes the official representatives of black community. I’m going to leave Kramer alone and throw the attention to something else – Question, are these dudes really relevant to today’s black community, or are they opportunists that only take on high profile black cases? I only see these cats when something big is brewing. Tell me what you think.
LM”Nword”OP
November 20th, 2006I heard the dude Kramer, from the show Seinfeld, was acting a fool over the weekend spewing racial slurs as if it was second nature. I checked out the video, and dude seemed like he was serious about it. If you don’t believe me, you can check out the video of Kramer using the N word here. He even says:
“50 years ago we would have you upside down with a f*!%$@& fork up your @$$”.
