The Atlanta Botanical Garden

“What you won’t do! Do for love… You’ve tried everything, but…….”
That song goes through my head as I write this post! You know, Atlanta has a lot of nice hidden treasures that I would never have known about unless I was forced to go there or was paid to do a gig there. This particular instance was motivated by the former of the two.

I visited The Atlanta Botanical Garden. In all honesty, this is one of the places I would always pass on the way to a summer concert or festival at Piedmont Park or just driving around handling business in that particular area of midtown. What finally got me there was my girlfriend’s birthday. She had been wanting to go for so long and I had always found a way out of it, so I couldn’t possibly deny her this visit on the most important day of the year. So babes, if you’re reading this, thanks for putting up with me not wanting to go for the last 4 years, because I actually enjoyed myself out there (Did I actually just say that?!?!?!?).
The Garden is located at 1345 Piedmont Avenue in Atlanta, right next to Piedmont park. This is a place that is so much more than just walking around looking at flowers (like I expected). You can plan guided tours of the garden, take Children’s or Adult classes on flowers and plants and you can plan all of your events in the Garden’s courtyard or one of the buildings on campus.

To make the most of the situation, I figured I’d go and try to get my photography game up a little, although taking pics of flowers isn’t really too fun. Flowers are supposed to be alive, but all they do is just sit there. Anyways, we went in April (yeah I know it took me a long time to blog about this…I guess I’m still trying to repress the fact that I actually had fun there) and many of the flowers hadn’t really bloomed yet. We still managed to see some nice, colorful flowers:

Ha, I couldn’t tell you the names of these flowers! And to think, I could have just taken a picture of the name. Sorry guys. Hey, you flower lovers in Brainmunchie land, just drop the name in the comments if you know!

All of the flowers smelled really great and it was so amazing to see God’s creation in all colors, shapes and sizes. If you ever get a chance, you should go check the flowers and plants out at the Garden. Note to dudes: This Atlanta attraction will in no way challenge your manhood (like I used to think). So grab a girl and go!

Isn’t love grand! U missed out on a very important part of God’s creation for far too long! God knew what he was doing when he created Eve! lol.
