You Should At Least Try

March 3rd, 2007

I’ve always been the kind of person that will see the simplicity in most situations and figure out a way to make money off of the people that over complicate those situations – whether it be because of laziness or ignorance. My problem is this, my follow through is the worst. I can guarantee you that If I had implemented at least 3 of my ideas, I could probably be writing this blog while laying on the beaches of Zanzibar or Belize. Since I haven’t, I’m writing this blog at 2:07 in the morning knowing good and well that I should be sleep because I have to work tomorrow.

I guess I’m just trying to encourage you to implement your ideas because you never know where they may lead you. This all stems from those Geico commercials about the cavemen. I’m sure the idea just started out as a funny thought in someone’s head, but now that silly little thought is getting heavy media exposure and I read that Touchtone Pictures is shooting a pilot episode for a show featuring those cavemen trying to make it in 2007 Atlanta. Who knew? I’m sure the person with the idea could not have imagined this much success.. which goes to show that you never know where your ideas could take you. I’m going to make a better effort to follow through on some of my ideas and I hope that you’ll do the same. If this blog turns out to be the small piece that inspires you to do something, please just come back and let us know things are working for you!

Peace!

Hip Hop Faces Increasing Backlash

March 1st, 2007

The Associated Press published a really good article on hip hop yesterday. It’s titled: Hip Hop Faces Increasing Backlash – Minstrelization of the Music Combined With Negativity Equals Poor Sales and it’s on MSNBC.com. I tend to agree with the perspective that the article is written from. What do you think???

Women Should Just Stay In The Kitchen!!!!

March 1st, 2007

For all my sports enthusiasts, have you ever been to a game, any kind of game, and disagreed with the referee on a call??… it doesn’t matter whether it was a bad call or just one you didn’t like.  I know personally that when I get caught up in the game and a bad call is made, I tend to take my emotional involvement out on the refs.  Well, I read an article today about Boston Celtics radio analyst Cedric Maxwell and he did just that.  The ref in this case was a woman, Violet Palmer.

Maxwell was quoted as saying she should “go back in the kitchen”… and even placed an order by saying “Go in there and make some bacon and eggs, would you?”  All of this was broadcast live on the radio.  So what do you think, was he caught up in the game?  Or did he mean every word he said??  The Bible says that the mouth speaks from an overflow of the heart.  Give me your opinion.

Of Course he has offered an apology – “I didn’t mean to be insensitive… blah blah blah…yada yada yada…”  It seems to be the norm now to be in public places saying whatever the heck you want to say and doing whatever you want to do and making everything better by just apologizing… some even check into rehab so it’ll seem more sincere.  Is this fair?  Do you think that a simple apology is enough?
