It’s Going to Happen Anyway?…

February 9th, 2007 by demonterious

Have you ever had a situation like this to happen to you?

You’re sitting at home and someone has promised to come by around 7. There are a million things you could be doing but you’re trying to hold off because you are waiting on your visitor. It’s at that point that you say to yourself, “I know the door bell will ring as soon as I start to….”. Ignoring your gut feelings, you begin to do something anyway and just as you thought, the door bell rings.

This situation parallels many similar situations that people have everyday. So I guess I’m wondering, if we all tend to believe that while anticipating an event, small things that disrupt the act of waiting or anticipating will cause that event to quickly come to pass, then why don’t we use that power for our advantage?
What I’m saying is, if you want the door bell to ring, then go ahead and start doing something else. If you think someone will call as soon as you get in the shower, then get in the shower and place a phone in the bathroom.

If you believe, you can control what happens to you.

Tell me what you think!
