The N Word – Worth About $500 (FAART)

You know, it’s really a sad day when ordinances have to be passed that make black people respect themselves. I like to call this one: “You know you have no self control when….”

You know you have no self control when a town has to consider passing an ordinance that fines people for use of the dreaded “N” word. Officials in Brazoria (Can someone tell me where this is???…lol) are contemplating fines of up to $500 for use of the racial slur.
The Mayor of Brazoria, Ken Corley, states that use of the word is not particularly a problem there, but recognizes that it is a national problem. He wants this small town of about 2,800 to lead the way in helping people stop using this word.

Apparently, if someone uses the word around you and you’re offended, then you can legally file a complaint. So, let me ask you something, do you really think that more blacks or whites will be affected by this? Let’s be real people. Is this the start of what will be known as “FAART” laws… Forcing African Americans to Respect Themselves (because they won’t do it on their own)? From my understanding, Brazoria is near Houston, one of Hip Hop’s current music making metropolitan areas, and the N Word can be heard on almost every record coming out of there. What does this mean for your average rapper there? Is there a ceiling to the amount of money you can get fined for? Can you start a “N” word line of credit? I know a lot of people are going to need it.

Sounds like problems to me. What do you think?
