I’ve been a super fan of hip hop for some time now. I’ve seen hip hop evolve into so many different forms, some good and a lot bad, but one thing that kinda keeps that raw energy in the art is the diss record. It forces the artists to step up to the challenge. So for all of you that haven’t been keeping up, here’s the latest in Hip Hop Beef:

Just wondering, if you ever follow the rainbow to it’s end… will there be a pot of gold? Or a debit card? What’s up with the world now? Will physical money cease to exist? Just curious. Le me know what you think.

Anybody that really knows me knows that I’m a Jay Z Fan, and I’ve been so since Reasonable Doubt. Just Blaze did the track for “Show Me What you Got”. Check out this “home production” video of how Just Blaze created the Jay Z track.

When I was growing up, it seemed like the norm was for people to work 8 hours a day for 5 days a week, and the rest of the time was to be spent with family and friends. Now, there seems to have been a shift that has everyone working hard on Saturdays, Sundays and all times in between. People don’t rest anymore, people don’t kick it with their families anymore. Malls and stores stay open until 10:00 or later and it’s not even a holiday. What has happened to us?? Read the rest of this entry »

Okay so, this is my first post to the new blog. It’s kinda funny because I read about blogs a few years ago in PC Magazine and they were calling it the “the next big thing”… and of course I didn’t believe it. Well, here I am, late as usual, jumping on the blog bandwagon. Better late than never right?

Just to let you know about me, I’m a musician / tech guy / ghetto sociologist / amateur photographer from Atlanta, GA and I’m sure you’ll learn more about me in later posts. The reason I started this blog was to chronicle my upcoming trip to Africa with my band AFAR. I’m humbled by the opportunity and I figured I’d use a blog as a way to share my experiences. During the trip and after, I’ll also post some of my thoughts or questions about life, just hoping to spark some kind of discussion. Feel free to comment whenever you want. I’ll try to post a lot of pics in the posts…pics always make reading better.
